Don’t forget to SMILE 😊

As the world continues to move at a rapid pace, with confusing narratives and unnerving division, there are many things we can do to soften the edges, calm our nervous system, and share more light hearted energy with others.

I was listening to a talk by Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, prolific author, poet, and teacher Thích Nhất Hạnh. He told a story of how he said to a little boy in the audience, “You have such a beautiful smile“. The little boy politely replied “thank you“, to which Thich Nhat Hanh responded:

It is my blessing to receive your smile! So the next time someone compliments you on your smile, simply say “you’re welcome”.

I loved that so much, and hope you are smiling now too 😉
