Road Rage Action Plan

Recently I was invited to share tips for controlling Road Rage, on the Premier Episode of Dr. Drew’s LifeChangers on the CW channel. They also videotaped me talking through it so that they could post the action plan on their website. These coping strategies can be used also for Anger Management and Anxiety.

3 Proven Steps To Overcoming Any Obstacle

One of the greatest honors for me was the opportunity to contribute a chapter in an anthology of stories, focusing on the strength of the human spirit, called “Living Proof, Celebrating the Gifts that Come Wrapped in Sandpaper.” My chapter, called “The Heart Whispers Truth,” highlights the lessons learned in my first marriage. During speaking engagements this past spring in Florida, Chicago and Los Angeles, I used…

We Do Not Forget

During a session with a client today she expressed some concern, “I hope I don’t forget this lesson!” We’ve all wondered (and perhaps worried) about that before, but really need to give ourselves more credit then that. We are in the driver’s seat of our life. If we choose to retain what we’ve learned and […]

Choosing Compassion Over Convenience

My friend came to me today to let me know that she could not take on a leadership position that she had volunteered for, and for which I was depending on her. I cannot deny that I was focused for a minute on how it would inconvenience me…..finding someone else to take over…making sure that […]

Unplug

This month I took the first solo “All fun” vacation in years…..swimming with the dolphins in the Bahamas. I already wrote a blog post about what I learned from them. What I want to share with you in this post, is how essential and powerful it was to totally let go of all the day-to-day […]

What I Learned From The Dolphins

I decided to swim with the dolphins in the wild with a group called www.WildQuest.com. I knew I would enjoy it, and I did so much. What I really underestimated, though, was what i would actually learn from these extraordinary sensient beings: HUMILITY: I learned that the dolphin brain has been evolving for 5 million […]

Everything Is Working Out Perfectly

At my sister’s 60 birthday party, she gave out bracelets that said “EWOP.” It stands for “EVERYTHING’S WORKING OUT PERFECTLY.” It was perfect timing to contemplate and to share. I returned to Los Angeles to celebrate my women’s group First Tuesday Circle of Giving 4th year Home Makeover for our 2010 chosen family. The project […]

The Disease to Please

Years ago, I remember an old boyfriend telling me up front ….within the first few months of dating… that “I am a Pleaser.”   He told me like it was some kind of identity badge. I was unclear if he was proud of it or just warning me. I took it as a warning and […]

The Stream Of Life

My sister and I like to collect heart rocks. Yesterday, on a beautiful August day in Aspen, she drove me to The Old Mining Town of Ashcroft, outside of Aspen. We walked along the path where settlers built their log cabins over 100 years ago. Growing up in Florida, we are both water girls. We […]

Out Of The Mouth Of Babes…

When my Godson Michael was in 1st grade, I went to visit him and his mom. After playing with horses, he got an allergy attack and we quickly whisked him in the car to get some over-the-counter relief. While his mom was in the store getting some medicine, dear 7 year old Michael was looking […]
