Dr. Marcy Cole

For the last 15 years, Dr. Marcy Cole, L.C.S.W,  Ph.D has developed an extensive private practice, working with insight-oriented adults and couples interested in improving the quality of their lives.    Her orientation is integrative -  merging traditional and holistic modalities of treatment.   Dr. Cole views the treatment process as one which embodies the creation of a safe space for personal reflection, re-evaluation, healing, transformation, and manifestation.    The goal is to assist each individual to come to know and value themselves, releasing that which does not serve them and focusing on that which promotes a healthy sense of mind/body/spirit alignment, vitality, and well being.

She received her B.S. in Communication Studies, majoring in Radio/Television and Film from Northwestern University.  She then earned a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work at Loyola University in Chicago, and later a Doctorate in Philosophy from the Institute of Clinical Social Work in Chicago.

During her early years in the field, Dr. Cole worked in both in-patient and out patient settings with adolescents, adults, couples and families.   After completing her Masters degree, she worked with the chronically mentally ill population in the General AfterCare Program, at The Counseling Center of Lakeview in Chicago.

In 1999, Dr. Cole’s published doctoral dissertation was a qualitative study on “The Experiences of Never Married Women from the ages 29-39 who desire marriage and children”.

She is a Best-selling Co-Author of: Living Proof: Celebrating the Gifts that Came Wrapped in Sandpaper.

Her services include Adult and Couples Psychotherapy,  Phone Consultation, Workshops and Speaking Engagements.   Dr. Cole sees clients at the integrative center Wheel of Wellbeing in Westwood, California.
