This month I took the first solo “All fun” vacation in years…..swimming with the dolphins in the Bahamas. I already wrote a blog post about what I learned from them.
What I want to share with you in this post, is how essential and powerful it was to totally let go of all the day-to-day responsibilities. I called At&t and told them to shut off my cell phone completely, so I could not receive any phone or email messages.
I quickly realized that this vacation was as much about “Unplugging” as it was about calling in the experience of swimming with dolphins in the wild. I cannot tell you how amazing it felt to be totally present, without distraction.
I am seriously considering working this into my daily life, allowing myself to have determined hours in each day where I do “unplug,” and perhaps a full 24 hours on the weekend. Sounds divine, doesn’t it?
Truth is, we can all really do this!! It just takes the decision and the discipline to put it into motion before it becomes a way of life that we will never give up. I attached this pix of me dancing on the boat. This is what I look like with no makeup, my hair not done, and totally unplugged…..woo hoo!!!!!!!
